sbroadhurst Hi - my children have been set a challenge question for the summer holidays and ask what is the most remote castle in Britain?
Does anyone know the answer please - i have searched and so far have found two possiblities which are unstanburgh Castle or Denbigh Castle but i am not sure.
any help gratefully receivedMalc_Chr Probably one on a Scottish island. Kisimul Castle is a fairly substantial one on the isle of Barra, but of the ones I've visited I'ld say Cubbie Roo's Castle on the isle of Wyre, but I dare say it's a faily subjective criteria - I certainly didn't find Dunstanburgh quite as remote, even though it was quite a long walk from my car. But then again, I left my car on the on the Orkney Mainland, and walked from the Ferry.
